WatchZA ("WatchZA", "we", "our", "us") provides the WatchZA mobile app and related services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use WatchZA.

2.1 Account and Profile Information

When you register or use WatchZA, we may collect:

  • Username
  • Email address
  • Password (submitted for authentication)
  • Profile data you choose to add (for example, bio or profile picture)

2.2 Google Sign-In Information

If you sign in with Google, we receive data needed to authenticate your account (for example, Google ID token and related account identity information).

2.3 Camera and Microphone Data

If you choose to go live, WatchZA accesses:

  • Camera (video)
  • Microphone (audio)

This access is used to create and transmit your live stream content. Camera and microphone access happens only after you grant runtime permissions.

2.4 User Content

We may process content you create or submit, including:

  • Live stream video/audio
  • Stream titles, tags, categories, thumbnails
  • Chat messages, reports, likes, follows, and other in-app interactions

2.5 Notifications Data

If enabled, we collect push notification tokens (for example, Firebase Cloud Messaging token) to send service notifications.

2.6 Payments and Purchases

If you purchase subscriptions or digital items:

  • Google Play Billing and payment processors handle payment transactions.
  • We may receive transaction metadata (for example, order or purchase token, subscription status, plan or tier, and transaction state).
  • We do not store full card numbers in the app.

2.7 Device and Usage Data

We may collect technical data such as:

  • Device/app identifiers
  • IP address
  • App events and diagnostics
  • Crash and performance or analytics signals

We use data to:

  • Create and manage accounts
  • Authenticate users and secure sessions
  • Enable live streaming and playback
  • Provide chat, notifications, moderation, and reporting features
  • Process purchases/subscriptions and prevent fraud
  • Improve app performance, reliability, and user experience
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

  • Cloud/service providers needed to run WatchZA
  • Analytics, messaging, and authentication providers

  • Other users, where content is intentionally shared publicly (for example, live streams, public profile elements, chat content)

We do not sell personal data.

5. Data Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary for service delivery, security and fraud prevention, legal/tax/accounting/compliance obligations, and dispute handling or enforcement. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal data, including encryption in transit where supported and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
